SELECTED WORK

Real pieces, in real houses.

Specialised textile work across Sydney's Eastern Suburbs — the piece, the scope, and the method used on it.

  • Close detail of undyed plain-weave linen, showing slub variation across the warp.
    PP–01Material study — plain-weave linen
    POINT PIPER

    Curtains, full drop

    • Full-height curtains
    • Cleaned in situ
    • No contact heat

    EXTRACTION, PATCH-TESTED

Heavy full-drop curtains cleaned on the rail. Taking drops of this weight down invites shrinkage and a re-hanging bill, so the whole treatment is designed to happen in place.

  • Close detail of a soft white cut-pile textile with folds catching raking light.
BH–01Material study — cut pile, undyed
    BELLEVUE HILL

Heritage home, six pieces and curtains

    • Floral three-seater sofa
    • Two cross-back chairs
    • Two vintage armchairs
    • Heavy cream curtains

HYDROSTEAM EXTRACTION, STEAM ON HEAT-TESTED FABRIC ONLY

A whole room of aged textiles in one visit, each piece tested and treated on its own terms rather than run through one setting. The benchmark this business prices against.

  • Close detail of a sand-coloured chenille upholstery weave, warp visible through the pile.
DP–01Material study — chenille upholstery weave
    DARLING POINTSix hours on site

    L-shaped sofa, armchair, chair, rug

    • Large L-shaped sofa
    • Armchair and occasional chair
    • Wool rug
    • Fabric protection applied

    EXTRACTION AND PROTECTION

A full lounge reset in a single session, finished with protection so the next spill sits on the surface long enough to be blotted rather than absorbed.

  • Close detail of a dense grey loop-pile textile.
    VC–01Material study — loop pile
    VAUCLUSE

    Upholstered chair, spot treatment

    • One upholstered chair
    • Localised staining

    STAIN CHEMISTRY READ, THEN EXTRACTION

A single piece, treated on the composition of the stain rather than on a general-purpose spray. The client has been on recurring upholstery work since.

HOW A FIGURE IS SET

Why it costs what it costs.

Premium pricing that cannot explain itself is just a high number. Here is what actually moves it.

Fibre and construction
A viscose blend and a hard-wearing synthetic take the same time to look at and a very different time to treat. The identification comes first because it sets everything after it.
Stage count
A single-stage clean and a four-stage treatment are different products. Where a stain has an oil binder and a pigment, each gets its own pass, in the right order.
Time on site
Extraction, rinse and controlled drying cannot be compressed without leaving moisture or chemistry behind in the fibre. That is what makes a cheaply cleaned sofa grey again within weeks.
Risk carried
Heritage and designer pieces carry replacement values in the thousands. The patch testing, the lower heat and the slower passes are what that risk buys.
Same for everyone
The floor is published so the figure is the same whoever asks, and it is given after the piece has been seen rather than adjusted afterwards.

A photograph, and the fabric if you know it, is enough to come back with a real figure and a clear plan for the piece.
